2017-2018 — Call for Executive Applicants

ASHRAE-UofT

Hello All!

Nominations for ASHRAE executive positions are now open! If you’d like to join the 2017-2018 executive group at UofT, make sure you fill out your nomination form: http://goo.gl/forms/9YdK2QStRW.

If you aren’t familiar with what the ASHRAE club does, then here is a short blurb to bring you up to speed:

The UofT ASHRAE club is, first and foremost, dedicated to promoting the awareness of ASHRAE within the UofT Engineering community. What is ASHRAE? First of all, ASHRAE stands for American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers. The society publishes standards and educational material, which are available through the UofT library and are available at discounted rates for students, that are used extensively in the HVAC&R and building industries. Although ASHRAE is extremely important in industry, it is rarely discussed in a school setting. For this reason, very few people know about it until they get into the working world. This is rather unfortunate, since it is so important for us once we are done school and since ASHRAE provides scholarships to current and future students. The scholarships that they have available to students are fairly significant (up to US$10,000). Further, ASHRAE holds career fairs and other events that can help build your professional network. The ASHRAE club helps to promote such events and holds events of its own (see our events page for some of the past years events).

This year, most of our executive team is graduating, and we are calling for executive applicants to take our place. Being part of the executive team is a great way to improve your resume and helps in your application for ASHRAE scholarships. It is also a great way to meet people in the industry and get your foot in the door of, what may be, your future employer. If you are interested, please follow the link at the top of this post!
